Rockstar Finally Addresses GTA 6 Gameplay Leaks
Rockstar Games has responded to the leaked GTA 6 gameplay videos, calling the incident heartbreaking and reaffirming the August 27 Extended Look and November 19 release date.

Rockstar Games has broken its silence on the GTA 6 gameplay leaks, saying the unauthorized videos shared over the past week have been "heartbreaking" for the team developing Grand Theft Auto VI.
The company published a direct message to players on August 26, one day before its planned GTA VI Extended Look presentation. Rockstar acknowledged the long wait for official gameplay, thanked fans for their support and asked the community to wait for the finished game rather than seek out further spoilers.
Rockstar responds to the GTA 6 leaks
In its official statement on X, Rockstar said the leaked footage was not how the studio intended players to see GTA 6 after years of development.
"Having videos of Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay leak in this way has been heartbreaking for our team."
Rockstar also apologized for how long it has taken to finish the game and share more details. The studio described GTA 6 as "nearly there", although it did not announce a new milestone or provide any additional development schedule.
The statement is Rockstar's first public response to the gameplay videos that circulated during the past week. It confirms that the material includes GTA 6 gameplay, but it does not identify who obtained or distributed the videos. Goleonida is not hosting, embedding or linking to the leaked footage.
The GTA VI Extended Look is still set for August 27
Rockstar reaffirmed that its official Extended Look will be shown on Thursday, August 27, 2026. The company said the presentation took longer than intended to prepare because it wants the reveal to meet the expectations surrounding the game.
No change to the presentation was announced in the statement. Rockstar said it remains excited for players to see the official footage and indicated that the Extended Look will provide the community with the deliberate presentation the leak disrupted.
