Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick says PC is becoming increasingly important to the company, but Rockstar still has not announced a GTA 6 PC version or release date.
Read the original announcement for full context.
View original sourceDuring Take-Two Interactive's annual shareholder meeting on September 17, CEO Strauss Zelnick was asked about the cadence of PC launches.
Zelnick said Take-Two's general strategy is to release games on platforms with a meaningful audience.
He then added that "the PC platform is becoming more and more important to our company over time."
The comment is relevant to GTA 6 because the game is approaching its console launch while PC remains absent from Rockstar's announced platform list.
However, Zelnick did not announce a GTA 6 PC version during the meeting.
He also did not provide:
A GTA 6 PC version has not been officially announced.
Rockstar's current GTA 6 materials list PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
That means any specific PC release date circulating online should be treated as unofficial unless it comes directly from Rockstar Games or Take-Two.
Take-Two's latest comments explain the company's broader view of PC, but they stop short of confirming a port.
There is currently no official GTA 6 PC release date.
Rockstar has announced November 19, 2026 for the console version.
No equivalent date or release window has been published for PC.
That distinction is important for search results and social media posts because phrases such as "GTA 6 PC release confirmed" can imply an announcement that has not happened.
The accurate position as of September 23, 2026 is:
GTA 6 launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, while a PC version remains unannounced.
No.
Zelnick spoke about Take-Two's overall platform strategy and said PC is becoming more important.
He did not say:
Those may be common expectations based on Rockstar's history, but none of them should be presented as a new September 2026 announcement.
The comments matter because they directly address Take-Two's long-term view of PC at a time when one of its largest upcoming releases is console-only at launch.
Zelnick said the company generally targets platforms that have a meaningful audience.
He also specifically described PC as becoming more important over time.
That tells us Take-Two does not view PC as a declining or irrelevant platform.
What it does not tell us is how Rockstar intends to schedule GTA 6.
Rockstar has not publicly given a detailed September 2026 explanation for why GTA 6 is currently announced only for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Several possible explanations are commonly discussed online, including development priorities, optimization and Rockstar's history of staggered platform releases.
Those explanations should remain clearly labeled as analysis unless Rockstar provides its own reasoning.
The only confirmed facts are the current platforms and release date.
Grand Theft Auto VI is officially confirmed for:
The game releases on November 19, 2026.
Rockstar's current pre-order and support pages do not list a Windows PC version.
No official PC pre-order is currently available.
Rockstar's GTA 6 pre-orders are for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Be cautious with websites claiming to sell a confirmed GTA 6 PC pre-order before Rockstar officially announces the platform.
Rockstar has not announced Steam availability for GTA 6.
There is no official Steam release date to report.
The same applies to the Epic Games Store and Rockstar Games Launcher.
A future PC announcement would need to confirm storefront availability separately.
No.
Rockstar has not published official minimum or recommended GTA 6 PC specifications.
Any RAM, GPU, CPU or storage requirements currently circulating online are estimates or speculation unless Rockstar publishes them.
It is possible, but 2027 is not an official GTA 6 PC release window.
Take-Two's September shareholder meeting did not provide a year.
A 2027 date therefore should not be presented as confirmed.
The correct status remains "unannounced."
Rockstar has not officially announced GTA 6 for PC.
The currently announced launch platforms are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
There is no official GTA 6 PC release date.
