Everything Rockstar Still Hasn't Revealed About GTA 6
GTA 6 has finally received a detailed gameplay showcase, but major questions remain about GTA Online, PC, performance, the map, radio stations and more.
By Goleonida Editorial•
Rockstar has confirmed GTA 6's release date, launch consoles, protagonists, setting and many single-player systems, but it has not revealed the full map, complete story, PC version, GTA Online plans, final radio stations, console graphics modes or installation size.
The 26-minute Extended Look answered years of gameplay questions while deliberately leaving several launch details for later. This guide separates those genuine unknowns from subjects Rockstar has already confirmed.
What GTA 6 has already confirmed
Before listing the unanswered questions, the current official baseline is important:
GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026;
the announced platforms are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S;
Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos are the two playable protagonists;
the story takes place across Vice City and the state of Leonida;
the Extended Look was captured entirely from in-game PS5 footage;
character switching, robberies, police searches, vehicle theft, activities and relationship systems are part of single-player; and
Standard and Ultimate editions are available for preorder.
Rockstar's official GTA 6 site and Take-Two's preorder announcement confirm the release date, console platforms and single-player positioning. Everything below remains incomplete or unannounced as of August 30, 2026.

Rockstar has not shown the complete GTA 6 map
Rockstar has named Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga. Reporting from its latest preview cycle describes the full state as roughly three times Red Dead Redemption 2's playable area.
The actual boundary is still hidden. There is no official flat map, square-mile figure, district list or confirmation of how much water is included. We also do not know whether the whole state is open immediately or whether story progress controls access to particular regions.
Our GTA 6 map-size comparison explains what the reported ratios mean and why fan maps cannot yet establish the final scale.
The full story and campaign length remain unknown
Rockstar's official summary says an easy score places Jason and Lucia inside a conspiracy stretching across Leonida, forcing them to rely on one another. The Extended Look demonstrates jobs and relationship choices without explaining the complete plot.
Rockstar has not announced the number of story missions, acts or endings. It has not confirmed whether every relationship choice changes the finale or whether both protagonists can survive every ending.
Reports that a Rockstar developer took approximately 80 hours to complete a playthrough should not be converted into a guaranteed campaign length. A developer run can include side content, testing, retries or unfinished pacing. The final experience will also vary by player.
GTA 6 Online has not been unveiled
Rockstar has not announced a GTA 6 multiplayer mode, a new version of GTA Online or an online release date. The current product material specifically promotes GTA 6 as a single-player experience.
That does not mean online play has been cancelled. GTA Online remains one of Rockstar's largest products, and GTA 6's open world is an obvious foundation for a successor. It means only that Rockstar has not publicly defined the plan.
Major unknowns include:
whether online play launches on November 19 or later;
whether it keeps the GTA Online name;
whether characters, money or purchases transfer from GTA 5;
the maximum player count;
cross-play between PlayStation and Xbox;
cross-progression;
dedicated roleplay or creator tools; and
the approach to GTA+ and microtransactions.
No transfer promise should be inferred from the free month of GTA+ included with some GTA 6 preorders. That benefit applies to the existing GTA Online ecosystem.
There is still no GTA 6 PC release date
The announced launch platforms are PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not announced a PC edition, release window, system requirements or supported storefronts.
Previous Rockstar games reached PC after their console releases, but that history does not confirm GTA 6's schedule. Any specific 2027 or 2028 PC date is an estimate unless Rockstar or Take-Two publishes it.
The absence of a launch-day PC logo also leaves technical questions unanswered, including ultrawide support, unlocked frame rates, ray tracing options, keyboard controls, modding policy and minimum hardware.
Rockstar has not published console performance modes
The official Extended Look was captured from in-game footage on PlayStation 5. It demonstrates the visual target on base console hardware, but Rockstar has not published a technical specification sheet.
Officially unanswered details include:
PS5, PS5 Pro, Series X and Series S resolution targets;
whether the game uses a fixed or dynamic resolution;
30 FPS, 40 FPS or 60 FPS options;
ray-tracing features;
120 Hz display support; and
differences in traffic, crowds or effects between consoles.
Hands-off preview reporting about a particular build is useful context, but it is not the same as a final launch-mode announcement. Read our GTA 6 PS5 performance analysis for the confirmed evidence and technical limits.
The final radio stations and soundtrack are secret
Fourteen licensed songs have been identified in the Extended Look, while earlier trailers use music by Tom Petty, The Pointer Sisters and other artists. Rockstar has not said that every promotional track will appear on an interactive radio station.
Station names, genres, DJs, talk-radio programs, advertisements and the complete song library remain unannounced. Rockstar has also not explained whether players can build personal playlists or use music outside vehicles.
See every song in the GTA 6 Extended Look for the verified presentation tracklist and the difference between trailer licensing and in-game radio confirmation.
Download size, preload and physical installation details are missing
GTA 6's final storage requirement has not been published for either console. Store listings can use temporary values before release, so screenshots of placeholder download sizes should not be treated as final.
Rockstar has not confirmed:
the base download size;
how much additional free space installation requires;
the size of a launch update;
preload dates and times;
how much data is included on the physical disc; or
whether optional language packs can be removed.
These details normally arrive closer to preload availability and can still change with certification updates.
First-person mode, accessibility and creator tools are unconfirmed
The Extended Look is presented primarily from third-person gameplay. Rockstar has not announced whether GTA 6 includes a first-person camera at launch, even though later versions of GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 support one.
A complete accessibility menu has not been shown either. Subtitle customization, control remapping, color filters, aim settings, motion reduction and difficulty assists should be evaluated only when Rockstar publishes the settings or reviewers can inspect the final build.
Rockstar has also not revealed a Director Mode, Rockstar Editor, mission creator, official mod support or integration with the Cfx.re roleplay community.
Post-launch story content remains a blank
No single-player expansion, episodic roadmap or post-launch map extension has been announced. Rockstar could focus on the shipped campaign, update the single-player world, prioritize an online successor or combine those approaches.
The Ultimate Edition includes bonus items, but bonus equipment is not evidence of future story DLC. Players should wait for a specific Rockstar roadmap before assuming that new regions or Jason and Lucia missions will be sold later.
What Rockstar is likely to explain next
Rockstar has not published a schedule for its remaining announcements. The most practical launch information still needed is console performance, preload timing, storage size and accessibility settings. A full map and final radio list could arrive before release or remain hidden until players receive the game.
GTA Online and PC may be handled separately because neither is part of the currently announced November 19 console launch. That is an inference based on the present product pages, not a confirmed marketing plan.
