New GTA 6 Details Reveal a More Reactive Leonida
Rockstar developers have detailed GTA 6's character switching, body changes, social feeds, reactive NPCs, and years of research behind Leonida.

A new interview with senior Rockstar Games developers has revealed fresh details about Grand Theft Auto VI, including how players can switch between Jason and Lucia during a drive, how their habits can change their appearance, and how Leonida responds to what they do.
The details come from Dazed's GTA VI cover story, which includes interviews with members of Rockstar's development, narrative, art, writing, UI, and character teams.
Leonida will react more realistically to the player
Rockstar describes GTA 6 as more grounded and reactive than earlier entries. The clearest example shared with Dazed is that openly carrying a rifle through the street will prompt a response from the city around the player.
That suggests weapons and public behavior will be noticed more naturally by the world, although Rockstar has not yet explained the underlying wanted, witness, or police systems. The studio's stated goal is greater immersion without removing the freedom and disorder associated with GTA.
Jason and Lucia can switch roles on the move
GTA 6's two leads are designed to function as a playable couple as well as individual characters. According to the report, a journey to a job can begin with Jason driving while Lucia uses the in-game phone from the passenger seat.
If the situation becomes a chase, the player can move between driving and firing at pursuers through the passenger window. The same character-switching system is also described in quieter moments, including travelling across the water together on a jet ski.
The article calls Jason and Lucia the first playable lead couple in the series. Rockstar is building their relationship into the story while still allowing players to leave together or pursue activities separately.
