GTA 6 brings back the six-star wanted level, but the Extended Look suggests that police chases in Vice City will involve much more than escaping a circle on the minimap. Witnesses can report useful details, officers can search an area after losing sight of a suspect, and a recognized vehicle may stay dangerous even when the first wave of patrol cars has disappeared.
The result is a wanted system built around information. Every decision made before, during, and after a robbery can influence what the police know about Jason and Lucia.
GTA 6 has a six-star wanted level
The GTA 6 Extended Look displays six positions in the wanted indicator, confirming the return of a maximum six-star wanted level. GTA 5 reduced the scale to five stars, so the change restores a classic part of the series while placing it inside a more detailed pursuit system.
Rockstar did not explain exactly which police units arrive at every level. The footage shows patrol cars, road responses, armed officers, and helicopters, but it does not provide a complete six-star unit list. Claims about military vehicles or specific federal agencies should therefore remain speculation until Rockstar confirms them.
Witnesses can build a description of the suspects
Police awareness appears to be separated into several pieces of information. Witnesses and cameras may identify a face, clothing, weapon, getaway vehicle, or the fact that Jason and Lucia were working together.
That makes a mask useful for more than appearance. Covering a face can stop one part of the description from becoming known, but it does not automatically hide a distinctive vehicle or outfit. A loud robbery in a recognizable car can still create problems after the protagonists leave the scene.
The system gives players several practical ways to reduce exposure:
- wear a mask before witnesses see a face;
